Letter to a friend from my country describing its unique features:
Namaste Manisha
Hope this letter finds you in good health and spirit. How are your parents and sister? Over here I am doing well and I must say in very happy space. Yes! You read it. Life has taken such a turn, that it is blissful, especially having joined this Buddhist Sangha, which preserved the teachings and lineages which offer a literal refuge – an abode to practice, to meditate, to study, and to retreat. As a Buddhist monk I am getting the opportunity to serve God and my nation sans getting distracted by the attachments and worldly affairs. While, it necessitates a sheer determination to leave my near and dear ones and devote my life for a higher cause, but I am happy doing this sacrifice.
Buddhism teaches me the significance of self-awareness and in search of truth from within. I had wanted to learn more about spirituality, religion, and meditation; however I never made it a priority in my life – today this is my life and this has reduced my stress, anxiety and depression. Buddhism has taught me more about practicing kindness, humour and compassion towards other people. In fact Buddhism has given me a feeling like being a wave in the ocean instead of feeling like my life is a secluded phenomenon.
I am enjoying and extremely content with this phase of my life and being here I have learnt to do things not only for myself but also for the entire world. Here we attempt to achieve enlightenment to reach its full potential and assist those in need. When I develop this kind of selfless attitude, I am able to focus less on my personal problems, and not get emotional about trivial things and my mind is calmer. I would one day want you to come here and see and feel this experience to know that whatever I had said is so very true!
It’s time for my meditation, so I am leaving you with happy thoughts and peaceful mind…..Regards to all at home
Om Shanti Om!!!
