Imagine that you are involved in a shipwreck situation – a ship has started to sink in the middle of the ocean. Eleven people have jumped into a life-boat that has been designed for a maximum of ten people only, and the life-boat is also starting to sink. What should the passengers do? Throw one person overboard and save ten lives? Or stick to the principle of “do not kill”, which means that everybody will drown?

Answer:
I will throw one person and save 10 lives
Answer:
They should rotate places and in the mean time search for more floating debris that can support a human. There's never a circumstance where people are just in a lifeboat without an actual broken ship or airplane around. They have stuff that floats, they are also legally required to have life jackets, so another reason why they wouldn't just drown.
There's also the issue that a lifeboat that can comfortably hold 10 adults can also hold 11 adults. If not, the lifeboat would be halfway to sinking with just 10 people on it, especially if people moved.
So yeah, no need to ‘sacrifice’ someone to save the rest. You'll just be killing someone because it takes a little more effort on behalf of everyone.
