Since the Panchayat usually sat by a group of (Elders) villagers and chaired by the village chief, the questions you can ask here are :-
1). Who are the members of the Panchayat?
2). How many years have the Panchayat (you are interviewing) been active?
3). Does the members change or permanent?
4). What are the qualifications for a Panchayat member to have to be in the Council?
5). What are the cases which the Panchayat usually oversees?
6). If a member of a family of the Council member were involved in the trial, could that member be replaced by another so the trial could be fair?
7). Does the public has a say in the verdict of the Council?
8). Does the Panchayat liaise with the local Police in matters of criminal cases?
9). Can they give you examples of some of these cases?
