English, asked by jaronjones964, 7 months ago

Imagine that you have only ever lived in the arctic, and have never seen a swamp or palm trees. Or, imagine you grew up in the desert and have never seen the ocean, or a lake. Now, imagine that you are thrust into that completely foreign environment. What would you notice? What details would you remember? You will use this perspective to write a two- to three-minute speech, clearly describing the new environment with vivid and imaginative details. Imagine that you are presenting the speech to a group of scientists back home. Your speech will show your reaction to the new environment, and must clearly communicate the reality of the situation. Because this is a formal speech, be sure to follow all standard grammatical rules and proper English. Write out your speech and present it to your friends and family as if they were members of the scientific group.

Answer:

It would be very impressive compared to a dry lifeless desert. The thought of the ocean the warm clear water and wildlife swimming around. If I only ever grew up in the dry plain desert seeing the ocean for the first time would be a huge life-changing event for me. I would definitely notice how the plants would be bigger due to a non-lack of water they would have more color not brown like the desert some even producing delicious sweet fruit. The smell of the ocean versus the dust storms in the desert. Then there will definitely be more wildlife because there's is a water source and plenty of food it wouldn't be dry and lifeless due to the lack of food and water and instead of tumbleweed blowing around you would have large sections of weeds and grasses. All the wildlife because there are the resources they need including lots of food for them it would be way different from all the birds circling and sea creatures and jumping dolphins in the distance compared to the dry desert that had scorpions and lizards. Another change would be the never-ending off the horizon water would be a huge change compared to never-ending sand and dust storms instead it would be salt warm water breeze of a mist of the ocean! There's just so much more to dream of about the two wildly diverse places between the different plants, wildlife, and water. It would be a huge change I would probably still remember the difference between the two though.
