‎ ‎ ‎ ‎A JOURNEY LIKE NO OTHER

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎During last year's winter break, my parents had panned to take me and my brother to Shimla by train. I and my brother was so excited because that was our first train journey. We started to pack the bags for the journey and we finally did it. We reached New Delhi Railway Station at 6 am and went to platform number one. The train was scheduled to reach the station at 7.30 am but it delayed by half an hour.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎At 8'o clock, the train arrived the station and I wondered by seeing its number of compartments. Then I started to search for the compartment - S10 where the seats for our family have been reserved. I found it after sometimes by having a nice walk from one of its end to other. We got into the train and placed our luggages safely and we were also seated. I and my brother got a cute fight regarding the window seat, but finally I got it. After some time, I heard a sound of whistle and noticed that the train started to move. At first, I thought that the speed of the train is very slow, but after few minutes, it's speed started to increase. Then I corrected myself that my thought was wrong on it. The train Ticket Examiner arrived near our seats and my father took out the tickets from the bag and got the tickets checked. Soon it became nine. My mother took me and my brother near the washroom for washing the hands to have breakfast. The train was moving and one of the door near the washroom was open. When I went near the washroom, suddenly my heart started to beat fast and got a fear like 'What If I get slipped near the door?'. Then I hold my mother's hand tightly and completed washing the hands. We returned back to our seats and had the breakfast. Then me and my brother started to look outside through window and we enjoyed it. The climate was very good. It became 12 noon and I started to listen to some songs on my mobile phone and passed the time. We had our lunch at 1 pm and after some time we had a good nap.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Soon it became four and only two hours left to reach Shimla. The train stopped at a junction for five minutes and again started to move. I met my old school friend in the train. We both were in the same compartment but didn't notice each other but finally I saw her. It was the memorable moment in the journey. I met her after three years. We clicked some snaps and spent the rest of the time together. Her parents and my parents started to talk and everything went well.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎The journey by train had came to an end as it was 6'o clock and we reached Shimla. According to me, the journey came to an end too soon. My first train journey was really awesome gave me a good experience. It gave me a chance to meet my old school friend and created beautiful memories. I wish to have another journey by train again. Hope it will happen soon.

I was very excited when my parents took us all to Kolkata for a holiday. We arrived at the Nagpur Railway Station at 7:00 A.M. to catch the 7:45 AM train to Howrah. Crowds had started gathering at the ticketing counter to buy tickets and there were long queues. Fortunately, we had bought our tickets a week earlier, so we went straight to the platform. There, we waited for the train and saw many people rushing to the platform. Children were running about happily. We quickly bought some magazines, mints and chocolates.

The train arrived and we got into our coach S7. Luckily , I got window seat .The guard blew the whistle and soon the train started to move. It increased the speed soon. I was clearly able to listen the rattle sound made by the train.There were friendly passengers all around and soon we started talking and joking among ourselves. The scenery outside was interesting and varied. Trees, bushes, rice-fields and farmers' huts flashed past us and we were greeted by village children waving and smiling at us happily. I also saw vegetable farms with rows and rows of long beans, chilies and brinjals.

It was night time and i wasn't able to sleep as always in the train journey. We reached our destination the next day and it was a memorable journey with the family.We disembarked and walked a short distance to board the cab to the apartment of my uncle. It had been a very pleasant journey, one I could look forward to on our return to Nagpur.
