We had a school excursion to Chandigarh and it was really very exciting. It was always my dream to see this place that is known to be a beautiful city. All of us assembled in the school and the bus took off at 9.30 am. We reached in about three hours.

There were so many things for us to see. I took quite a few photographs as memories of our trip. We first saw the Open Hand Monument.  I could not stop admiring at the way the metal hand was constructed. It is shaped like a bird and rotates to show the direction the wind is blowing.

From there, we headed to the Rock Garden where we saw various forms of sculptures in all sizes. It was difficult to believe the local guide who told us that this place was once used as a place to dump industrial waste. Today, there are many sculptures here that stand testimony to this statement.

We wound up the trip with a short trek through the Kansal Forest and the Rose Garden. The air was so fresh and it was heavenly to breathe pollution-free air. All of us got home tired late evening, but happy that we enjoyed every bit of the day.
