imagine the moon emits its own light. will it still have phases? justify your answer

if moon emits its own light ,it will behave like a sun.so ,at that time it will not have phases

No. It wont have phases. The change of phases of the moon is due to the change of direction of refelction of light from the sun. If it have its own light, whole part of the moon ahead to the earth's surface would be visible to us like that of the sun.
