How could I be so thoughtless! Not for once did it strike me that father has aged. He can no longer walk such a long distance with the heavy trunk of mine. Worst still he is bare-footed. I spent six months at home enjoying the immense hospitality and love of mother and father but I never thought of their comfort. How selfish of me.
Today when father asked me for a pair of shoes I was so ashamed. When he left the tea shop I looked at his stooping body. He was walking with a limp. His legs were hard and cracked. My old shoes were too small for him so he couldn’t fit into them. I regret for not paying attention. God please forgive me.
