In this case the social, economic and environmental benefits have to be weighed very judiciously before arriving at a decision.
As the industrial house is stated to be a reputed one, the Government should play an important role in helping the production unit to relocate, told to put in place better control measures in checking and controlling the pollutants and effluents or changing the production process whereby environmental norms are adhered to in a more efficient manner. If all this does not work, the unit must be ordered to shut down and the employees either assisted by the Government to start economic activities of their own for sustenance or absorbed elsewhere.
