'It has been two days, but I still have not been able to get over Hamid's gesture. We adults give pocket money and gifts to the children, but here, it was the complete opposite. My little Hamid got me a gift- a pair of tongs! He did not buy anything for himself! I wonder how he was not tempted by all the food and toys at the fair. His mouth must have watered at the sight of the sweets, and he must have itched to buy a toy. My poor child! There is so much for children at the fair that they often run short of money, but Hamid...even with his meagre pocket money, all he could think of was me. I am blessed to be his grandmother. What a thoughtful and loving child. God has indeed been kind to me, to make Hamid so compassionate.'
