You: The work you have done to conserve environment is just phenomenal! Who or what inspired you to work for environment conservation?

Wangari Maathai: Thanks. Actually the beauty of environment and people’s dependence on it were the key motivations behind. I just wanted this beauty to remain. So I worked for it.

You: How did you accomplish such a big task of reviving the forests?

Wangari Maathai: It was not easy. I had no resources; then I learnt how make saplings; I involved other women in the project and finally it turned out out to be quite successful.

You: Your success has made you quite famous! What are your next plans?

Wangari Maathai: I will work more in this direction; I am going to revive forests in other parts of Africa too. Then I will shift my focus to Asia.

You: That sounds very promising. All the best! Thanks for visiting our school and giving us he opportunity to interact with you.

HELLO BASHEERM , HERE'S YOUR ANSWER_________

ME: Good morning Madam. It is our greatest honour and privilege to have such a great person like you in our school. We feel so proud of you.

Wangari Maathai: Oh my, thank you so much.

Me: What brings you to India Madam?

Wangari Maathai: India has always been the country of my dreams. Ever since I read about the 'Chipko Movement' I decided I must visit this amazing country. It has as rich a flora and fauna like my Africa.

Me: you have achieved such great feats in humanity. What has given you the energy?

Wangari Maathai: Being born a woman

and watching my mother, grandmother, aunty work so hard taught me the lesson of hardship and struggle. From them I derived the energy to work on and fight for justice. I am also a great admirer of Nelson Mandela. His patience and tolerance gave me the inspiration and endurance.

Me: why did you give away your Nobel Prize money.

Wangari Maathai: Just as your Nobel

Laureates Rabindranath Tagore and Mother Teresa had a dream and they fulfilled their dream with the money. I too accomplished my dream with the Nobel Prize money.

Me: Thank you so much for being here and sharing your valuable time with us.

Wangari Maathai: Thank you.

BE BRAINLY

THANKS!
