Ms. XYZ

Perkins Institute for the Blind

Boston, MA

Dear Ms. XYZ,

It has now been two months since I started teaching Ms. Helen Keller. She is slowly making progress grasping words. As she is both blind as well as deaf, teaching her is very challenging. Now I started teaching her by writing each letter and word on her palm and also making her touch the object for her to sense it. She is able to learn gradually. She is also learning multipication tables now. But she has an unpredictable temper which is very difficult to manage. I am trying to pacify it by being gentle with her.

I plan to bring her to the Perkins Institute eventually so she could have proper formal education which is not possible if she is at home. I have already spoken about it with her parents and they have promptly agreed. I do not know if Helen would be friendly with the idea though.

I would convey to you my plans regarding the same, as soon as I convince Helen. I would have your support and assistance too when I come there.

                                                                                    Yours Sincerely

                                                                                    Ms. Anne Sullivan
