There are not much to see around Antarctica. There are no colonies or towns. The period of summer is from October or November to March or April.  

The biome in Antarctica is the can be called as part of tundra being coldest and driest. Animals such as mammals like a few varieties of whales, seals, dolphins etc, birds like albatrosses, gulls, penguins etc fishes, eels, snails and invertebrates are present.

• There are just scientific bases where around 1000 to 4000 people stay for research purposes depending on winter or summer.
• Sometimes if the winter is critical, one cannot find way out as the only way out is through the sea which remains frozen calling it as enforced winter.
