Dear Diary,
Today I had an unusual and hectic day. Today was the day I was supposed to start my role as a governess, in Captain Von Trapp's household to his seven children. I was quite skeptical about taking on this job in the first place, since handling seven children, that too all boys, would prove to be a difficult task, Oh! How I wish I had thought more deeply on this matter! Even before entering the household, I was pranked on by the three youngest siblings who had set up a bucket of icy cold water on top of the door! It splashed on me, wetting my new dress as I entered the manor. Captain Von Trapp is no joke either, as soon as he learned about this, he sent those three children into isolation rooms, denying them any dinner! He is one strict man of the military, who does not hesitate to bring his stern military commands and personality back home with him. The whole day I tried to interact with all seven children individually, however, I was only met by short and curt replies. All the children were particularly cold towards me, as I observed their behavior with other staff of the manor, and found them acting warmly with the same, earning pitiful looks from them. Captain Trapp too, was not very friendly, and barely replied to my queries about his children. I was deeply shocked by all of their behavior since I am accustomed to getting a lot of love and affection from both my students and their parents alike. I do hope I can adjust soon in this household and form deep connections with all seven children.
