Dearest Father,
You cannot imagine the extent of my penitence I have been feeling since I left you so suddenly! I am so much ashamed and sorry for leaving you so all of a sudden. I was so insanely infatuated. It was the madness of the passion of the age. I have offended you with such an unforgivable ingratitude. I missed you so much. I shall always regret my decision of eloping with that soldier from Punjab. You might have given your consent to our wedding. But I feared the community would not let it happen! I went so far away from you just to save you the trouble my marriage might have caused you. I did not want the clashes happening between our community and the community my husband belonged to. Dear father please forgive your daughter, who still loves you a lot! I know my folly has caused you so much distress. I will soon visit you with my husband and daughter; we have decided we will keep you with us now. I love you father!
Your remorseful daughter

My dearest father,
I lack words to express my deep sense of sorrow and regret that i am completely shattered at your death.Howsoever i may try i can't make you live again as no one comes back from death.I feel greatly guilty at my inattention towards you. I shudder to think how you might have spent days and nights being all alone and with nobody to care for you in your old age.As a daughter i must have kept myself in constant touch and should have visited you frequently to be near you.I constantly feel that i am responsible for your death. The great sense of guilt overwhelms me and i find myself covered in darkness.
If possible, dear father, forgive me for my duties that i didn't care of.
Your unfortunate daughter
Miriam
