Dear Grandmother:
I hope this letter finds you and grandfather in soaring spirits and the best of your health. You will be glad to know that I have just come back from an adventure trip. I had an adrenaline pumping experience on the rapids on the turbulent waters of the Ganges at Rishikesh I along with my friends decided to go to Rishikesh for leisure. The sylvan and idyllic beauty of the place was quite enchanting. The Ganges here is at its best! The current so turbulent, you won't imagine it is the same peaceful Ganges that flows so placidly at Haridwar. As we were sitting at a restaurant on the bank of the Ganges, enjoying snacks and tea, I descried a red raft in the river. Curious I asked the manager if we could enjoy rafting too. The manager replied he could arrange for the ride.
So within a matter of 20 minutes, the raft reached the bank. The rafting guide briefed us about the dangers involved in the rafting and also explained what precautions were to be taken. After a brief training in the shallow rapids of grade 1 and grade 2, we asked him to give us the thrilling experience of rafting through grade 3 and grade 4 rapids.
'Whoosh!' went our rafting boat! It was mind-blowing experience. The grade 4 rapids were so steep and precarious; we felt the terror of being thrown overboard by the current of the gushing water; we were grateful to God for the narrow escapes. The falls in the rapids scared us to the bones, though we had our safety gear on. We enjoyed the 5 kilometer stretch of the raft ride so much that we had it again. This adventurous experience will ever remain etched indelibly on my mind! I wish both of you were also with me. But don’t worry; I have requested the father to take the family to Rishikesh once more. You will also accompany us! The rest is fine. We all miss both of you so much! Tons of love from all of us.
Yours lovingly,
Gibran
