Barygaza has a sea port and ship building centres.

It is located at the mouth of River Narmada in Gujarat, overlooking the Arabia Sea. Currently called Bharuch, it has transformed through several names such as Barygaza (given to it by the Greeks), Barugaza (name given by the Arabs) and most recently as Broach.

Formerly a trading point for goods from the Far East, it is one of India’s big industrial cities now.

Barygaza or Broach port is located in the western coastline in India.

It is on the Gulf of Cambay.

It is in the state of Gujarat in India.

I visited the port last Sunday.

I found the surroundings filled with antiquity.

The modern day city of Broach is an industrial city which also reflects in its port activities.

There are shops coming here enhancing trade and strengthening the economy of the place.
