Women Empowerment Programme Organized
A seminar on Women Empowerment was organized by Women Power, an NGO on February 16, 2019, in Ludhiana to make people aware of women empowerment. Famous Women’s Rights Activist, Sunanda Shergil gave a startling presentation on the recent feats and accomplishments done by women. She presented the statistics related to phenomenal works done by women.
Famous personalities such as Smriti Irani, the Cabinet Minster, Kiran Kher, the famous actress and M.P., Kiran Bedi, the renowned activists for women empowerment, also spoke on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Smriti Irani, the Cabinet Minster appealed to people to treat women equally in all spheres of life. She also made the people aware of the Government’s initiatives and programmes launched to promote women empowerment. She reiterated the Government’s commitment to promote women empowerment in all walks of life. The seminar succeeded in evoking huge applause from the audience.
Justice for Women arranged a seminar on 27th January 2019 at Kolkata, and the key discussion was Women Empowerment on the backdrop of Indian Culture.
Many eminent speakers coming from all parts of the country joined and spoke on the subject.
It was found out that although much has been done in the field of education, employment and basic sanitary habits for the women, more stress should be given on to stop the forceful abortion of female child and child marriage.
