The Weavers were Highly Skilled and Efficient. Everything in the industry as well Maintained. The Sanitation Condition of the Industry was Good enough. The living condition of Weavers was very impressive. Every facility provided to the Weavers is Excellent. It was quite a Good experience at that Industry. Give my regards to your Parents.

Your Lovingly,

Dear Anil,

Recently, I visited pochampally, which is famous for the cottage textile industry.

Particularly pochampally saree has a great attraction all over India as well as globally.

Pochampally Saree is made in Bhoodan Pochampally, in the district of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Telangana State, India.

They look like traditional geometric patterns.

The Air India, has its cabin crew wear specially designed pochampally silk sarees.

Today, most of the weaving takes place in Pochampally village where there are over five thousand looms machines producing sarees.

It has found the place in UNESCO  list of world heritage.

The kerchiefs made of silk thread have international popularity.

There were traditional looms in around 80 villages which were operated by hand with  pattern and designs are very old.

Today this Silk City is home to more than 10,000 weaving families scattered over 100 villages.

Sarees are marketed through the cooperative society, many other commercial organizations.

A condition of handloom weaving families is not good as they cannot compete with machine-made sarees which are cheaper due to bulk production.

However, they are getting the assistance of the Govt. in selling their product at the market price.

So, if you get a chance, you may visit the place and can learn the weaving pochampally Sarees.

Thanks, Bimal
