We planned a trip to Darjeeling and made sure to take a ride on the toy train. This ride is known to be a romantic journey to the mountains. The journey began from Jalpaiguri, heading towards Siliguri and then crossed the Mahanadi river. The train passes through many other stations and junctions.
Sometimes the train passed through the mountains and we got a view of the deep valley and the higher ranges. The views were spectacular and breathtaking indeed.
The steep slope and beautiful scenery seemed to fascinate us.
There were several shops and houses just by the train tracks. Finally, the train reached the highest point, the Ghoom station. We stopped there for sometime and enjoyed the beauty of nature.
After this, it slowly moved towards Darjeeling. In the meantime, we could see the snow capped mountains in the backdrop. As we reached Darjeeling, we did not feel like leaving the toy train. It was extremely fun and we hoped for another trip.
