Answer:

We would not be able to go to patshalas because we would have been from poor families and the fees were going to be high which were not easy to pay.

Explanation:

OR

I would have opposed the introduction of the new Pathshalas in my village. Following are the reasons to support my view:

1. Since the timetable in the earlier system of Pathshalas was flexible, children from poor peasant households were able to go to these pathshalas. Whereas, the new system of government regulated pathshalas required daily attendance of the students even at the time of harvesting when we had to work hard in the field to raise production.

2. While the fees in the earlier pathshalas varied according to the income of the parents, the new system asked them to pay a regular fee.

3. In the old system of pathshalas, all the teaching was provided to the children through oral methods, whereas, the new government controlled pathshala system introduced printed books and annual examination to test the learning of students.

4. Earlier the pathshalas were often set up under the Banyan tree or in the corner of the village. But the introduction of the new pathshalas forced children to sit in proper buildings with benches and chairs and with a regular timetable and obey the new rules of discipline.
