Imagine yourself as a member of a rural Self Help Group. Develop a plan according to which your organization will be helping the poor financially.

I am a proud member of our local rural self help group. It all started with an ordinary whatsapp group which used to have its share of forwards, jokes, puzzles etc. One fine day we realized that neighbor of one of the group members met with an accident and was in need of financial help. We all pooled in and collected money for helping that neighbor. This good deed made us very happy and we started this self help group.
Our plan is to start with the local farmers first. We plan to help them plough their fields and provide them with the seeds for cultivation. The only condition is that they have to plant atleast 10 trees in their surroundings and take care of them. The weather forecast predicts timely and plenty rains and I am sure that the farmers will be able to repay the money we are spending on them in cash or kind.
Another scheme that we are planning to start is to make arrangements for rainwater harvesting so that the rain water will increase the ground water levels and the people in the vicinity will have plenty of water next summer.
These are couple of schemes we are planning to do in our self help group.
This information is spread with word of mouth and we expect people to join in and help in whatever way they can.

I as a member of my village's ngo are working for the welfare of poor people with money and gifts for daily used things. We are doing since many years by spending millions but the outcome was a little bit. For some people this money was just to buy luxury things or enjoyment.
One day we decided to change our way of charity. We planned to give villagers money in the form of useful ways. We decided to buy things for poor people who wanted to work so that they can earn money to run their homes. Now our organization's plan is to give people their tool by which they can work and earn. By this plan we buy sewing machines, autos and other things need by people for their profession. This plan is working fantastically and giving good results and people are happy now.
