Time: 7:00 p.m.

Dear Diary

Today I went to hand over the letter to Mrs. Connie Macpherson. She was thrilled to see the letter, but somehow she mistook me to be Jim. I honestly did not know what to do. I did not want to lie and pretend to be Jim, but I couldn't bring myself to tell her the truth either. She had waited years for Jim. How could I take away those few moments of joy from her? I found myself in such a difficult situation. It was one of those times when your conscience does not clearly know what is right and what is wrong. Yet, the joy on Connie's wrinkled face was beautiful and I could not bring myself to tell her the truth and take that joy away. I hope God understands!
