In ancient period of India we would exchange goods by the following ways:-

1)Usually barter system was followed in which a person who wants a particular things gives it to a needy person and took whichever things he/she likes.
2)This method of exchanging goods wanted a double co-incidence condition.
3)In ancient India,Currency was not introduced so People usually fulfil their needs by this method.
4)These forms of exchange include exchange of wheat,rice,sugar etc.
