After Blenheim by Robert Southey
Explanation:
"After Blenheim" is a poem with an anti-war theme. It was written by an English romantic poet Robert Southey in 1796. Blenheim is the site of the war in 1704 where two young children found a skull. They were piqued and started to question their grandfather who accompanied them. The grandfather answers their questions while his mind races back to the days of war where there were burned homes, dead bodies and wounded people all over the place.
The granddaughter was Wilhelmine and Peterkin was the grandson. Kaspar was their grandfather. Like all young children, the kids were unaware of the ravages of war, but they were inquisitive. So they had a hundred questions about the skull they found in their interest to know everything about how it got there.
