Dear Parents,

                   Today, I write to you with a heavy heart as we have lost the battle to the vicious British traders. I can see how they are trying to conquer our dearest motherland. 

Yesterday, we ran out of the last resources we had our Maharaja Siraj-ud-Daulah had to surrender and was humiliated in front of his own people who loved him and supported him. The moment when the British won over us, it broke us completely. I cannot explain how awful I feel right now. 

What bothers me the most is that our own people were involved in our loss. They have betrayed not only Maharaja Siraj-ud-Daulah but also the nation which would now suffer in hands of the British traders. 

We fought till the end, yet failed at the end. The fate of Bengal is now in the hands of the British and Mir Jaffer. I can just hope that they would show mercy over us poor people.
