Thymus gland. It is plays an important role in immunity by producing T- cells. These cells help to fight with diseases or infections. In older people these gland reduces in size so it becomes weak and so less T - cells are produced and so old people are prone to infections. In children the gland is large in size. So a child's immunity is quite good.
