Answer:

As we all know that because of the COVID-19 pandemic, worldwide educational institutions are closed and we all are teaching from home i.e. either working from home or teaching online. Most of the countries around the world have temporarily closed educational institutions to attempt to minimize the spread of the COVID-19. According to UNESCO (2020), these worldwide closures are impacting over 60% of the world’s total population of students. Moreover, various countries have executed localized closures impacting millions of other students and learners.

COVID-19 has imposed a lot of challenges on the educational systems worldwide (UNESCO, 2020) and because of this, the teaching in the domains of Tourism, Hospitality & Business Education has been changed and we have moved from traditional classrooms to the digital classrooms whether digital or hybrid. This development has changed the ways of teaching-learning in the arena of Tourism, Hospitality & Business Education. Closure of educational institutes impacts not just the students but, also the teachers and families. These closures in response to the pandemic have shed light on various social and economic issues, including student debt (Jamerson & Mitchell, 2020), digital learning (Karp& McGowan, 2020), access to the internet (Jordan, 2020), etc.

The intrusion of technology in the education system due to the increasing spread of COVID-19 is a reminder that there is a need for global transformation. For several years, we’ve been debating and discussing digital transformation, but we were uncertain about it. The truth is that online education cannot replace actual classroom education because of the lack of personalized nature of attention and face to face interactions in virtual classes, but it can be an effective support for educational institutes in the current situation. The shift towards digital learning is bothersome because the world wasn’t entirely ready until the COVID-19 happened. In the 21stcentury, the way we access/deliver information, impart knowledge, and ease of learning have changed. The COVID-19 pandemic and its resultant impact on our lives have raised the need to adopt innovative ways of getting education services at all levels.
