During First World War British had increased taxes on India which had the negative impact on Indian economy. Variations in inflation, increased in price of goods etc.
During this war the government of India was still under the leadership of British rules. The thirst of freedom became very high. Leaders like Gandhi ji, Nehru, Chandra Shekhar and many others appeared in the war.
Society was developing very fast because of the war. Government of every nation tried to control industries. They provided facilities to laborers and thus led to many movements.
