The movement started with middle-class participation in the cities.
⏩ Students left government controlled schools and colleges. Headmasters and teachers resigned.
⏩ Lawyers gave up their legal practices.
⏩ The council election was boycotted in most provinces except Madras.
⏩ Foreign goods were boycotted.
⏩ Liquor shops were picketed.
⏩ Foreign clothes burnt in huge bonfires.
⏩ Peoples began wearing Indian clothes.
Non-Cooperation Movement in the cities gradually slow down because:-
⏺ Khadi cloth was very expensive than cloths produced in mills.
⏺ No alternative Indian schools, colleges and courts were set up.So students and teachers began trickling back to government schools and lawyers joined back to work in government courts.
