Here is your answer mate...

The response of British to Quit India Movement was very aggressive and quick . the Congress was banned and most of its leaders were arrested before they could start mobilizing the people however people were Unstoppable . there were hartals and demonstrations all over the country the people attacked all symbols of British government such as railway stations , law courts and police stations . Railway lines were damaged and telegraph line haircut in some places people even setup independent government .

The British respond with terrible brutality the army was called out to assist the police they were instance of Lathi charge and firing on an unarmed demonstration . Protestors were arrested and tortured and their homes raided and destroyed by December 1942 over 60,000 people had been jailed .

Indians suffered greatly throughout the Second World War there where was a terrible famine in Bengal in 1943 in which over 30 lakh people died the government did little to provide relief to The Starving Millions .

Hope it will help you..
