Plants are usually sensitive to heat stress drought. Heat stress affects both cell division and growth. It lowers division. Heat stress or drought also increases respiration and affects photosynthesis. Mild drought on the other hand favors root growth rather than shoot growth and also has an impact in partitioning of both nitrogen and carbohdrates
