This is traditionally measured in pounds per square inch (PSI). 1 PSI is the force of one pound applied to an area of one square inch. At high altitudes the quantity of air is less, and the density of air is also less. As such, there is less air pressureand as a result, less oxygen in a given volume of air.

nikkusing09876543: The area that is low-lying, pressureshould be higher there simply because of greater amount of air compared to higher areas. So, air pressure at the sea level is the highest and it decreases gradually with altitude. On the other hand, temperature also affects the air pressure to a great amount.

Although the words 'air pressure' and 'weather' sound like some ... can easily understand why altitude has an impact on air pressure.
