I'd like to point out that farmers in my local has already lost their land. Do you want to know how? Many leather industries located in and around village, dump their effluents in barren land which gets mixed with ground water. Farmers unknowingly have used this water for many seasons. There came a point where every farmers around the village were waiting for a long time to harvest their crop and also found their existing coconut trees and plants were withering their leaves soon. They suspected something bad happening around them. So they hired a soil scientist to check the fertility of soil. They found the unusual substances which, later came to know that its the constituent of the effluents released from every shoe Industries around them.

Media's contribution to bring this problem out is just a small 6 cm article on a 2nd page of local newspaper which no one bothers to read in this digital world.

Now farmers here lost their sacred land and most importantly India's ancient profession of Agriculture.

Restoring their fertility of soil if willing(through soil replacement), needs to be done in massive scale which they couldn't afford and supplying good quality water is out of reach to their hands.

Do you want to hear about government's contribution? if at all they did anything to solve the problem?
When farmers sued the company good dear old govt allocated them a sum amount of 5000 rupee per acre as a compensation to their damaged livelihood.
