‘Discipline is the key to success.’

Good Morning, respected Principal, teachers and my fellow friends. Today, I, Karuna, would like to present my views on the topic ‘Discipline shapes the future of a student’. Our parents and teachers are always trying hard to imbibe the qualities of discipline in us, because discipline is indeed the key to success.

Discipline is a quality which brings consistency in our activities and helps us to stay focused on the important things in our life. It constantly helps us to move towards the path to success and growth without diverting attention to other unimportant and destructive activities. There are various ways in which discipline is inculcated in us. The first people that help us in developing this habit are our parents. Discipline starts with waking up on time, saying morning prayers, having a healthy breakfast, going to school, playing in the evening, completing homework and sleeping on time at night. Our school also helps in developing this habit by ensuring that the students enter school on time, wear a clean and neat uniform, complete all chores and attend classes for a fixed time period.

All these habits will help us in the future by allowing us to follow a fixed healthy schedule in college and workplace. But, in today’s world, a number of distractions like the internet and social media have made many people quit their disciplined life and instead choose a destructive life, full of unhealthy habits. So, one always needs to remember the basic rules of discipline that we follow in childhood and not discard them in our later life, as they form the basic ladder to success.

Thank you.
