IMPORTANCE OF HISTORY & CIVICS

We can notice that most of students do not take interest in this subject in their opinion . this subject has no utility in future hence no need to pay more time in studding it. It readily hunted me a lot and then I decided to tell them its importance.

As far as history is concerned it is the mirror of our glorious past. It is the history only which reveals the entire story man’s past to us. Now the question arises why should we know our past? Many of us opine that what has happened let it be; we should not waste our time in knowing it soother  we should talk about our present and future, which we have to live but in my opinion without having knowledge of our past, no one can live in his present well. Can you imagine of such families whose members do not know about their fore fathers, their traditions and customs??? Can they live well with the other members of society??? This answer is no similarity we have proper knowledge of our country’s past, its culture and its traditions and a part from it, we also learn many important lessons from the past incidents; these lessons help us to face many challenges as the study of civics is concerned, we all know it very well that ours is a democratic country and for the success of democracy. It is quite essential that its citizen should be well educated and aware also about their rights & duties. This can be done only when we study civics. It is a study of civics which tells us about our duties. By studding civics students can also become familiar with  the purposes and functions of the government the scope and limits of the authority and the difference between the democratic and non-democratic government to conclude my topic I want to say that the aim of civics competence, the knowledge, intellectual process and democratic dispositions required for students to be active and engages participants in public life..

history tells us about the events that have occurred in the past. It is a way to reconnect to our ancestors and retrace our roots . It also tells us where we went wrong in the past . It enables us to not repeat our errors again .

civics is about how the government and other organisations work. It tells us about our rights and duties . It empowers and generates awareness among the citizens.
