language and popular traditions have immense cultural value. These were common to all the people of Poland and were held closely by them. It defined their identity. Thus, creation of national identity was by invoking these values. Once they realised their identity is threatened they came together to protect the same. This is other wise known as nationalism. In Poland, polish folklore, polish traditions etc were invoked to bring people together.
