They have given the users the freedom to move around while staying connected all the time. This unique capability empowered a lot of important applications. Not only cell phones have kept individuals connected to each other, but also they have played a significant role in conducting and managing business and facing emergency situations such as natural disasters.

According to The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) estimation in February of 2013, there are 6.8 billion mobile subscriptions worldwide. This means the penetration rate in the global population is about 96 percent cite{ITU:2013:Online2}.
