Developed countries are daily dumping tonnes of plastic as waste in India.

Import data joined by Union government depicts that more than 59,000 and 61,000 tonnes of plastic waste came in India in 1999 and 2000.

Representatives of Mumbai Medwaste Action Group say that the countries involved in unauthorised dumping include Germany, Japan, US and UK.

NGOs believe that plastic waste problem is as highly polluting and is being propounded as solution to get rid of waste.

An immediate ban on plastic waste import has recommended lessening in consumption of plastic as long-term solution.

It has suggested applying of 'polluter pays' principle in dealing with makers and has said that PVC should be banned wholly.

Yes it is the fact that earth is slowly turning into a dumping ground. Millions of tons of waste are created by an urban area WeChat daant into solid landfills which are located far away from the population places. This creates are huge dumping zone outside the cities and towns.

This damping zone is a very harmful for environment. They effect the underground water quality and makes it unsuitable for use. It makes the surface water harmful for the humans to use. This should be immediately stopped by the government or else it will be a huge risk for the environment.
