Many of the world’s most threatened species are living in poor habitats degraded by agriculture, threatened by disease or hemmed into tiny areas with no way of reaching potential mates without coming into conflict with humans.

Not only to provide a critical haven for Endangered species but also as a unique environment to learn both from and about animals – learnings which are shared with other zoos across the world and with conservationists in the field, who use this critical information to carry out their work in the wild.
