Governance can be defined as the way organisations or countries are managed at the highest level.  


Transparency- It is one of the major principle of Governance. It means sharing information and to take the decisions and follow them by rules and regulations.  


Accountability- It means being answerable for doing a task.  


Transparency and Accountability go hand in hand. These reduces favouritism and corruption.

  • PIOs should provide information to the public when asked.

  • The operations are clearly specified.
  • The Time taken and budget required for completion of the task are laid down.
  • Government officials are responsible for the task performance.
  • Existence of a mechanism for course-correction.
