The ciliary muscle is a ring of smooth muscle in the eye's middle layer (vascular layer) that controls accommodation for viewing objects at varying distances and regulates the flow of aqueous humor into Schlemm's canal.

Actions:

1) accommodation, 2) regulation of trabecular meshwork pore sizes

Origin:

1) longitudinal fibers → scleral spur; 2) circular fibers → encircle root of iris

Insertion:

1) longitudinal fibers → ciliary process, 2) circular fibers → encircle root of iris

1-Retina - image is formed on retina
2-Ciliary muscles- helps in controlling opening and closing of eyes so that extreme light should not enter our eye.
3-Iris- helps in controlling size of pupil so that minimum light should enter our eye it also gives distinctive colour to the eye.
