Plastids are the site of manufacture and storage of important chemical compounds used by the cell. They often contain pigments used in photosynthesis, and the types of pigments present can change or determine the cell's color.

Functions:

1.Plastids work like Mitochondria because of its own DNA and Ribosome.
2. Plastids contain pigment  chlorophyll known as chromoplast and luecoplast.
3. Chloroplast contain chlorophyll which is used by plants for photosynthesis.
4. Luecoplast is used for storage of food.
