➡ India lies between the latitudes 8°4'N and  37°6'N and longitudes 68°7'E and 97°25'E with the Tropic of cancer (23° 30'N) dividing the nation into nearly two equal halves.

The Indian union consists not only of the mainland but also of the islands of Andaman and Nicobar islands and Lakshadweep islands.
