IMPORTANT QUESTION;;;;

hello guys :-
Why bond energy of cl and cl bond is greater than that of f and f while the bond distance in cl is (1.99 A) and in f and f it's (1.42)
Energy for cl and cl (243)
Energy for f and f is (158)

Bond energy of cl is greater than f because bond length of cl is less than f .

i.e Bond energy is inversely proportional to bond length

Bond length:
Cl : 1.99 A°=1.99 x 10^-10
F : 1.42 A°=1.42 x 10^-10

Hope it will help you.

Thanks

sahiljairamani7863: bahi bond length to f ki kam hue na???
sahiljairamani7863: ??
OmkarT: Actually, fluorine ki electronegativity jyada hai as compared to chlorine
OmkarT: It is highly electonegarivity power
sahiljairamani7863: bahi wahi to poch raha ho k flourine ka size kam hai us ki bond length zyada hai but why energy is less as compared to chlorine????
OmkarT: uske wajah se F-F electronic repulsion jyada hai
sahiljairamani7863: ohh it mean that's why energy kam?
OmkarT: haa
