In 0.4m there are 20 waves and an observer’s ear perceives 120 waves in a minute . Calculate the wavelength, frequency and the speed of the wave.

Answer:

Frequecy=f=2hz

Wavelength=λ=40cm=0.4m

Distance=S=1.6km=1600m

Time taken by the wave to reach the distance 1600m = t = ??

Solution:

Since we know that :-

V=fλ

By using the above formula we will find velocity (v):-

V=2×0.4

V=0.8m/s

So as we know that:-

V=S/t

Therefore:-

T=S/V

By subsituting the values in above equation:

T=1600/0.8

T=2000seconds
