This shows that the Church and the Pope were very powerful during the year 1040.  This brought peace in the Church by stopping infighting between the barons.  Pope Innocent 3 was an influential figure during the early part of 11th century.   He asserted his views that Pope in Christianity was next to God Jesus and his decisions are divine orders which everyone must follow.
