The Vedanta College
----------------------------

The Vedanta College was founded in the year 1825 by the social reformer Raja Ram Mohan Roy.

The establishment of this college was a part of his reformist policies, whereby he sought to promulgate his teachings of Hindu monotheism. As a staunch advocate of educational reform, he had hoped this institution to be the perfect blend of Indian and Western teachings.
