In 1857 which soldiers felt the religious faith was been violated and why???

mangal panday was the sepoy who become violated because British give him arm which is made of cow skin and pig skin it is used when put in mouth so it effect Hindu and Muslims relligon

The British had passed the general service enlistment act. By This, am Indian sepoy could be sent overseas for duty. However it was a taboo for Brahmin to cross the seas.
It was this reason that the shoulders felt that there religious faith was violated. The act did not take into consideration, the sentiments of the Indian sepoys.
