"Karachi. All India Khilafat conference was held in Karachi on July 21, 1921. Maulana Mohammed Ali gave initiation to a resolution which said that Muslims should refrain themselves from serving in the British Indian Army.

Hence, the Ali brothers were taken into custody on counts of sedition. Later on a similar resolution was passed by the congress themselves and the Government had to let go off the whole saga.
